Bottom:
Cast on 60 stitches, size 9 needle. Work rows 1 and 2 until you have done 20 rows.
Row 1: P3, K 57
Row 2: K3, P57
When these rows are completed, pick up 20 stitches on the short end, 60 on the next
side and then the last 20. You have now completed the bottom and will start on the
sides.
Body:
Knit 10 rounds, it is helpful to place a marker at your starting point to keep track.
Change to size 10.5 needles and switch stitch pattern. Work rows 3 & 4 until the bag is
at least 12” tall.
Row 3: K2tog, M1
Row 4: Knit row
Top:
Switch back to the size 9 needles and knit 8 rows.
Binding off and Handles:
Beginning at the stitch marker, knit 10 stitches and set aside onto a holder. Bind off the next 40 stitches. Knit the next 10 stitches and set aside onto a holder. Bind off the next 20 stitches. Knit the next 10 stitches and set aside onto a holder. Bind off the next 40 stitches. Knit the last 10 stitches. Using these last 10 stitches use rows 5 & 6 to make the
handles.
Row 5: Knit
Row 6: Purl
When the handle is 16” long knit these stitches together with the 10 stitches on the same side which you had previously set aside. Bind off.
To make handle number 2 pick up one of the remaining set of 10 stitches and repeat the instructions from handle #1.

K = Knit
P = Purl
K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together
M1 = Make a stitch (this makes the hole in the pattern)
